Outgrown QuickBooks? Move your whole business to one system.
QuickBooks did its job. Now your orders live in a store app, your inventory in a spreadsheet and your books in QuickBooks, and nothing agrees. Odoo replaces the stack with one system, and we migrate you there with an official Odoo partner that works your hours.
Signs you've outgrown QuickBooks
QuickBooks is accounting software. The moment your business is also inventory, orders, production or a sales team, you start building the rest around it, by hand.
Stock lives in a spreadsheet
Someone updates it after the fact. You oversell online, you overbuy for the warehouse, and nobody trusts the count.
Orders arrive from everywhere
Shopify, Amazon, email, phone. Each one is re-typed into QuickBooks, and the errors show up in month-end.
Month-end is a project
Reconciling the store, the bank, the 3PL and QuickBooks takes days, and the numbers are history by the time you see them.
Add-ons on top of add-ons
Inventory app, CRM app, shipping app, reporting app. Each with its own login, its own sync, its own invoice.
Sales has no system
Quotes in Word, follow-ups in someone's inbox. When a rep leaves, the pipeline leaves with them.
You can't answer simple questions
Real margin per product, what's in transit, which customer is late. The data exists, just not in one place.
What moves, what changes, what stays
Odoo's accounting is a full general ledger, so your books move over cleanly. The bigger change is everything QuickBooks never did.
Your accounting
- Chart of accounts, mapped to Odoo's
- Customers and vendors with balances
- Open invoices and bills (AR / AP)
- Opening balances and historical totals
- Products, price lists and taxes
- Bank accounts and reconciliation rules
Everything around it
- Inventory with real-time stock, lots and locations
- Sales orders, quotes and CRM in one flow
- Purchasing with reordering rules
- Store and marketplace orders flowing in by themselves
- Shipping labels and tracking from the order
- Manufacturing, if you build what you sell
Your people's routine
- Your accountant keeps a standard GL and standard reports
- Sales tax keeps calculating (Avalara AvaTax or Odoo's built-in rates)
- Stripe, PayPal or Authorize.Net keep taking payments
- QuickBooks stays read-only for history as long as you want
Four steps, one go-live
You keep running the business on QuickBooks until the day you switch. We size each step with you in the first call; the scope depends on how much of your operation moves beyond accounting.
Discovery
We map how orders, stock and money actually flow today, and what should be different. You get a written scope, not a guess.
Build & migrate
Odoo configured to your flows. Accounting data migrated and reconciled against QuickBooks to the cent. Store, payments and shipping connected.
Rehearsal
Your team runs a full week on the new system with real data, in parallel. We fix what's awkward before it matters.
Go-live & stay
Cut-over on a date you pick, usually a month-end. Then we stay: support, training and the next improvements, on your hours.
Before you book
Will my accountant hate this?
Usually the opposite. Odoo has a standard general ledger, journals, trial balance, P&L and balance sheet, plus bank reconciliation that works. Most accountants are productive in Odoo within a week, and they stop chasing spreadsheets.
Do we lose our history?
No. Opening balances and historical totals come over, open invoices and bills come over line by line, and QuickBooks can stay as a read-only archive for as long as you need it.
What about sales tax?
Odoo calculates US sales tax natively, and for multi-state or nexus-heavy businesses we connect Avalara AvaTax. Your existing setup tells us which one fits.
We sell on Shopify and Amazon. Does that still work?
Yes, better. Orders, stock and fulfillment sync both ways through Odoo's native connectors, so you stop re-typing orders and stop overselling.
Odoo Online or Odoo.sh?
For most small businesses Odoo Online (SaaS) is the right start. If you need custom development or specific integrations, Odoo.sh. We recommend one in the discovery call and explain why.
How does working with a team in Uruguay work?
Same hours as the US East Coast, give or take an hour. Contract and invoices in US dollars. Senior, Odoo-certified consultants. And we travel for kickoffs, go-lives and key milestones when it helps.
Find out what your migration looks like.
Thirty minutes with a senior ACLN consultant. We look at how you run today, tell you honestly whether Odoo is the right move, and if it is, what the scope would be.
